Thursdays@Central: Japanese Tea Ceremony
The Ogasawara Ryu Sencha Do Japanese Tea Ceremony School was established in Japan about 100 years ago. Although the history of the matcha ceremony is much older and well known, Ogasawara Ryu involves the making of tea from tea leaves as opposed to tea powder.
The Southern California Branch of the Ogasawara Ryu Sencha Do is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Please help us celebrate this event by attending our tea ceremony, a performance that involves all of your senses, guaranteed to be beautiful, cultural, and tasteful.
Three Ogasawara Ryu Sencha Do Japanese Tea Ceremony School teachers, Suiyu Kovacs, Suibi Bevington, and Suishin Kobayashi, will be presenting this tea ceremony.
The program is sponsored by Bruckman Rare Book Friends.
